Alzheimer’s Care in NC

In Eastern North Carolina there’s a limited amount of beds at care facilities for people with Alzheimer’s and Dementia. There are only four nursing homes in Pitt County that care for people dealing with the disease. A total 72 beds are available in the county, but most of them are full. “Folks with Alzheimer’s disease and other forms of Dementia, they aren’t the best decision makers for themselves. It’s very important that people that are specially trained to provide for those special needs.”
