I arrived in Tourrettes France on Saturday to join Don Demers and Mary Erickson and three others for a painting retreat in this lovely area in the south of France not far from Nice. I fly back tomorrow, amazed by how fast this has gone. We are painting studies in the area, visiting quaint old villages and overlooking sweeping vistas with the traditional stucco houses dotting the hills. Painting seems to have lost its priority in any given day. We are way more interested in staring out at what we see and settling down to fabulous wine and platters of local tapenade and stories. We are getting some painting done. But there is nothing like being with great painters.
